Newtown, CT, May 4, 2009....  A free Lunch and Learn Program for the community entitled, "Common Types of Arthritis - An Overview" will be held on Wednesday, June 3, in the Lodge Room at Masonicare at Newtown.  Dr. Michael A. Cassetta of the Fairfield County Medical Group will present the program.  A complimentary lunch will be served at noon, and the program will begin at 12:15 p.m.

Arthritis is a group of conditions involving damage to the joints of the body.  It isn't just one disease;  it's a complex disorder that comprises more than 100 distinct conditions that can affect people at any stage of life, and each has a different cause.  Dr. Cassetta will present an overview of three of the most common forms - rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis and gout, and offer information on the latest treatment options available for these painful and often debilitating diseases.
