Dr. Karen Prestwood of Hamden Joins Staff at Masonicare Primary Care Physicians in Wallingford - 3/23/2009
As a geriatrician and specialist in adult healthcare issues, Dr. Prestwood's primary role with the practice is to conduct comprehensive evaluations of the cognitive, emotional and physical functions of older adults through Masonicare's outpatient Geriatric Assessment Program. Following an in-depth assessment, Dr. Prestwood and staff will make recommendations and follow up with individuals and their families to maximize function and community living. Dr. Prestwood, who is board certified in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics, has her Master's in Public Health from the University of Pittsburgh School of Public Health and received her medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Prestwood is also certified in Holistic medicine and is currently studying Tibetan Medicine. She was on the faculty at UConn Healthcare Center until 2006.
