Residents of Masonicare at Ashlar Village Are Strong Supporters of Meriden Wallingford Chrysalis - 3/4/2009 Wallingford, CT, March 4, 2009...... The residents of Masonicare at Ashlar Village are always eager to help those in need whenever the opportunity arises. When they heard about Meriden-Wallingford Chrysalis and the important work they do to help victims of domestic violence, they offered their support by responding with their usual giving spirit, participating in several fund-raising drives for the organization. Meriden Wallingford Chrysalis, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization funded in part by United Way, the Connecticut Department of Social Services and Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence, and private donations. The organization counsels and supports victims of domestic violence by providing short term emergency shelter, a transitional living program for those needing additional assistance, a weekly support group for women and their children, and advocacy through medical, legal, police or social services systems. Sharlene Kerelejza, MSW, Chrysalis Executive Director, said donations like these are helping Meriden Wallingford Chrysalis fulfill their mission to help those affected by domestic violence make their own decisions, without the fear of abuse. "The generosity of Masonicare and their Ashlar Village residents is incredible. They have consistently come through for us with critical items that our residents simply couldn't function without. We sincerely thank them." For additional information about Meriden Wallingford Chrysalis or to learn how you can help, call 203-630-1638.
