Maura McQueeney, BSN, MPH, Joins Masonicare as President of Masonicare Home Health & Hospice - 2/13/2009 Wallingford, February 13, 2009.... Maura McQueeney, BSN, MPH, of Killingworth has joined Masonicare as President of Masonicare Home Health & Hospice, the home healthcare affiliate of the Wallingford-based healthcare organization. Stephen B. McPherson, Masonicare President and CEO, made the announcement. Ms. McQueeney comes to Masonicare with more than 15 years of leadership and managerial experience in the home care and hospice field. Since 1997, she has been Executive Director of Homecare, Hospice and Palliative Care for Middlesex Hospital in Middletown, where she was responsible for strategic planning and day-to-day operations of the hospital's largest department, including its inpatient hospice and specialty programs. From 2003 to 2008, she chaired Middlesex's hospital-wide Nursing Quality Council. Prior to her tenure at Middlesex, Ms. McQueeney was CEO of Healthtouch, Inc., of Rhode Island, a private duty subsidiary of SENECA Healthcare. Ms. McQueeney holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Rhode Island and earned a Masters in Public Health from Boston University. She is a member of the Government Relations Committee of the National Association for Home Care and has been a frequent presenter at industry conferences and professional organizations. Ms. McQueeney is also an appraiser for the American Nurses Association Magnet Recognition Program, which assesses nursing services throughout the country. Inannouncing the appointment, Mr. McPherson said, "Maura brings an impressive track record of managerial, strategic and hands-on experience to Masonicare. We are very fortunate to have her on board as we continue to grow and expand our wide range of home care and hospice services to clients throughout Connecticut." In addition to Masonicare Home Health & Hospice, which is statewide, Masonicare's affiliates include Masonicare Health Center and Masonicare at Ashlar Village in Wallingford, Masonicare at Newtown, and Masonicare Partners Home and Health and Hospice, a collaboration between Masonicare and St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford.
