Treatment for Arthritis of the Knee Topic of November 20 Presentation at Ashlar of Newtown - 11/5/2008 Newtown, CT, November 4, 2008.... On Thursday, November 20, Masonicare's Ashlar of Newtown is presenting a free educational program, "Treatment for Arthritis of the Knee," at 3 p.m. in the Lodge Room at Lockwood Lodge Assisted Living at Ashlar of Newtown. Dr. Ronald Tietjen of Danbury Orthopedic Associates will present the program. Dr. Tietjen, a specialist in knee disorders, is Chief of Orthopedic Surgery and Medical Director for Orthopedic Surgery at Danbury Hospital. Arthritis, the most common disease that affects the bones in your knees, can wear away the cartilage and cause pain and swelling. Dr. Tietjen will discuss available treatment options and offer tips on how to best protect your knees from damage and how to care for them if you have arthritis of the knee. Complimentary refreshments will be served. There is no fee for the program, but seating is limited.
