Barbara Stevens, RN, BSN, Named Community Nurse Liaison for Masonicare's Ashlar of Newtown and Connecticut VNA - 10/29/2008 Newtown, CT, October 28, 2008.....Barbara Stevens, RN, BSN, has been named Community Nurse Liaison for Ashlar of Newtown and Connecticut VNA, affiliates of Wallingford-based Masonicare, Connecticut's leading not-for-profit provider of senior healthcare and retirement living Ms. Stevens, a resident of Danbury, has extensive healthcare and administrative experience and has worked in a hospital, long-term care and short-term rehabilitation setting. She holds a BSN degree from Southern Connecticut State University and is a member of the Case Management Society of America and the American Academy of Case Managers. Prior to joining Masonicare, Ms. Stevens was Clinical Resource Manager for Danbury Hospital, where she had been employed for close to 20 years in both clinical nursing and case management. In her new role, Ms. Stevens will work directly with hospital case managers in the Danbury and Waterbury areas to assess individuals for referral to Ashlar of Newtown and Connecticut VNA to better meet their needs and enhance the level and quality of care received. Masonicare's Ashlar of Newtown is a 154-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility in the Sandy Hook section of Newtown.
