Talking With Your Doctor Topic of October 29 Lunch & Learn Program at Ashlar of Newtown - 10/16/2008

Newtown, CT, October 16, 2008....  A free Lunch and Learn Program for the community entitled, "Talking With Your Doctor: How to communicate and develop a good relationship" will be held on Wednesday, October 29, in the Lodge Room at Lockwood Lodge Assisted Living at Masonicare's Ashlar of Newtown.  Jennifer Tanger-King, ACSW, LCSW, Regional Director of Counseling and Complementary Therapies for Connecticut VNA, will present the program.  A complimentary lunch will be served at 12 noon, followed by the program at 12:15 p.m.

Unfortunately, most people feel rushed during a doctor's appointment and come away without getting answers to important questions they meant to ask.  Knowing how to communicate with your doctor can help you make the most out of your office visits.  Ms. Tanger-King will offer tips on how you can best prepare for an appointment and promote a positive exchange with your physician.

Ashlar of Newtown sponsors the Lunch and Learn series to provide the public with important and timely health and wellness information.  There is no fee for the program, but seating is limited.  If you would like to attend, please call the Masonicare HelpLine Center at 888-679-9997 to make your reservation.

Ashlar of Newtown, an affiliate of Masonicare, is a 154-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility located at 139 Toddy Hill Road, Newtown. Its adjacent 54-unit assisted living community, Lockwood Lodge, provides both regular and special memory care assisted living services.  Ashlar of Newtown is proud to be celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.
