Leg Pain – Causes and Treatments topic of Sept. 17 Lunch & Learn at Ashlar of Newtown - 9/4/2008 Newtown, CT, September 3, 2008.... A free Lunch and Learn Program for the community entitled, "Leg Pain - What Can Cause It and What Can Help" will be held on Wednesday, September 17, from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Lodge Room at Lockwood Lodge Assisted Living at Masonicare's Ashlar of Newtown. Do you have pain when walking? Or when you sit for prolonged periods of time? Janice Danyew, RN, Regional Director of Homecare for Masonicare's Connecticut VNA, will present an overview of the circulatory system and focus on problems that can develop with leg circulation as a result of a buildup of plaque in the blood vessels. She'll discuss what you can do to help lessen the risk of developing Peripheral Vascular Disease and a serious condition known as Deep Vein Thrombosis.
Ashlar of Newtown sponsors the Lunch and Learn series to provide the public with important and timely health and wellness information. There is no fee for the program, which includes a complimentary lunch served at 12:30 noon, followed by the presentation at 12:45 p.m. Seating is limited, however, so if you are planning to attend, please call 1-203-364-3113 to make your reservation.
