Press Release
Masonic Child Development Center's "Farmers' Market" a Big Success - 8/19/2008
The outdoor market featured a variety of fresh-picked vegetables, grown by the children in the garden they planted and tended throughout the spring and summer. The sale also included an assortment of delicious baked goods prepared by the children themselves - with a little help from staff and parents. The preschoolers were taught how to count money, learned what good "customer service" is all about, and how they can work as a team to achieve a goal. Lots of "Grandma's and Grandpa's" from the Masonic Healthcare Center, along with parents and employees, provided support and assistance, helping to make the event a great success. They were almost "sold out" by the time the market closed. # # # PHOTO CAPTION Morgan Birney (brown shirt), a pre-K student at the Masonic Child Development Center on the Masonicare campus in Wallingford, helps fellow student Brooke Plummer and Brooke's father, Kevin, with their purchases at the Center's annual Farmers' Market.
