Press Release
Mags and Windshield Dice Are Nice! Free Classic Car Show & Sock Hop at Ashlar of Newtown Saturday, August 9 - 7/7/2008 Newtown, CT, July 7, 2008.....The Classic Nights Car Club of Monroe is hosting their Seventh Annual "Going Back in Time" Classic Car Show and Sock Hop on Saturday, August 9, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Lockwood Lodge at Ashlar of Newtown.
Greyhound Rescue and Rehabilitation, a non-profit organization of volunteers, will greet everyone with their "furry friends" to help raise public awareness about ex-racing Greyhounds. The Greyhounds are excellent pets and companions and can be adopted through the organization. Food and beverages will be available for purchase during the show. Tours of Ashlar of Newtown and the adjacent assisted living facility, Lockwood Lodge, will be offered. For those who plan to enter a car into the competition, pre-registration is NOT required, and each one of the first 50 cars to register that day will receive a complimentary dash plaque. The cutoff year is 1980, so cars manufactured after that date are not eligible to enter the competition. Ashlar of Newtown is located at 139 Toddy Hill Road in Newtown (Exit 11 off I-84 or off Route 25). In the event of inclement weather, the show will be cancelled, and there is no rain date scheduled. For additional information, contact Peggy Loulis at 1-203-364-3177 or 203-268-1111. # # #
