Photography Exhibit of Famous Jazz Artists at Masonicare at Newtown May 21 – 31 - 5/27/2009

Enjoy the Photos and Meet the Artist at Special Wine & Cheese Reception May 27

Newtown, CT, May 7, 2009.... As a Fairfield neurologist and Medical Director of the  Rehabilitation Unit at Masonicare at Newtown, Dr. Joel S. Feigenson is a very busy man, but he's always managed to find the time to pursue and combine two lifelong passions - photography and jazz music.

On Wednesday, May 27, from 4 to 7 p.m., the community is cordially invited to attend a wine & cheese reception at Masonicare at Newtown, complete with live jazz music performed Mark and Dan Edinberg, to meet Dr. Feigenson and view his unique display of jazz photos.  One of his earliest is a black and white photograph of Louis Armstrong, taken in Manhattan's Central Park in the late 60's.  There are more than 20 photos in the exhibit, including a portrait of the legendary jazz great, Dave Brubeck.    The exhibit is open to the community from May 21 through May 31 between the hours of
10 am and 5 pm.
Dr. Feigenson's work spans several decades.  During that time, he has used a variety of methods and photographed many different subjects. Some of his photos use realistic photo techniques, some a variety of digital techniques to emphasize form, color, and watercolor texture.  Every photograph aims to capture the emotion of a musical moment so a casual observer can "hear" the excitement of the performance - and the performer.
